1. Exactly what functions does BootMaster Partition Recovery perform?

BootMaster is used to recover (restore, rebuild, etc.) Master Boot Records (MBR), Extended Partition Boot Records (EPBR), partition tables, FAT & NTFS partition Boot Sectors. It can be used to accomplish additional repairs, for example, recovering file allocation tables (FAT) from overwriting or damage caused by user mistakes with FDISK. BootMaster can also be used for file undeleting and for light (directory at a time) file recovery.

2. What file systems and operating systems does BootMaster support?

BootMaster currently supports FAT, FAT32, and NTFS file systems in DOS, Windows 9X, ME, NT4, 2000, 2003, and XP. Vista is not currently supported.

3. How do I know that BootMaster will fix my problem?

4. In what environments does BootMaster operate?

BootMaster can be run from pure DOS, a DOS window in Windows 95 OSR2+ or Windows 98. It will not run from a DOS window in Windows ME or any version of Windows NT. Normally, BootMaster runs in pure DOS after booting from floppy disk or CDROM.

5. What kinds of hard drives are supported by BootMaster?

Any disk which is accessible in DOS via the system BIOS or a device BIOS, inlcuing ATA, Serial ATA, and SCSI hard disks.

6. Can BootMaster handle my 500 GB hard drive in DOS?

Yes. BootMaster uses the system's or the device's BIOS for disk access, so it is limited only by the capabilities of the BIOS and can handle disks and disk arrays up to 2 terabytes in capacity.

7. Can BootMaster be used for repairs on external USB drives and flash sticks?

Yes, if the computer system's BIOS provides USB support so that the USB device is accessible in DOS.
